A living historical research archive • Patiala, Punjab
Why this archive exists

A Hedge Against Time

Future generations should inherit more than names: they should inherit the trail behind them.

We know where to go. We should also know where we come from.

PatialaRajPandits.com is a long-horizon family archive. Oral history drifts; dates compress; titles change; photographs lose captions. A source-based record makes that inheritance more durable.

What the project is

A public historical record of Patiala’s Raj Pandit tradition and Pandit Mulk Raj, combining institutional history, oral testimony, historical visuals, archival references and a research ledger.

What the project is not

It is not an official royal-household site, institutional archive, claim of hereditary office or substitute for the repositories it cites.

For the next generation

A descendant decades from now should be able to understand the family account, see what was established, find exact record numbers, identify what remained open in 2026 and continue from there.
